The Art of Lost is a swiftly growing food and travel digital publication and content studio focused on finding those delicious moments and stories to get lost in while exploring the world. In a time period that’s prioritized the habitual essence of instant gratification, the desire was born to features those moments between moments that pull us into a mindful presence with each other—many times abroad, with new friends, or over a dish—into the times that remind us what is means to truly be alive.

Launched in the country of "slow living" in August of 2015, The Art of Lost began its journey in Milan, Italy, quickly growing its readership to span across 88 countries. The journal provides a curated, highly visual and photographical diary view for those with a big appetite for international food culture and stories off the beaten path—getting lost in a bowl of fragrant pho in a bustling back-alley in Asia, an afternoon frying zucchini blossoms with an Italian nonna, spontaneous underground pub crawls with Japanese business men, and more. These are the smells of a memory...this is travel.

After an 8+ year career spanning across digital and print media, photography, strategy, and publishing, Nisa Sedaghat launched the content studio to serve clients in the spaces of food, travel, and hospitality and bring their stories to life for a global audience.

Stay turned for "Behind the Apron" a photo and video series that takes an intimate look behind the scenes and into the lives of those behind our food.

An Note from the Editor

I have found, it is often in the least likely of places that we find the strange, comfortable, homeyness of foreign lands and this is what fascinates me. Ironically, this is through the paradoxical excitement of their eccentricities, commonly through our bellies - sampling scorpion in a side alley of the hot, humid and sticky streets of Bangkok with a chattering group of new friends; spooning red tree ants with beef and holy basil at a food stand in the bustling downtown of Siem Reap, Cambodia with a young Khmer girl; downing my first shot of fiery grappa on the back patio of a vineyard in Tuscany with an Italian family that quickly became my own... food is our universal language. We may speak it accented and peppered with different spices, prepare our tongues at different temperatures and dapple in the hides and flesh of different cultures, but, at the end of the day, we all sit down to share in the same beautiful speech—a dish shared in the company with those we love and those we have just fallen in love with.

Let's get talking, let's start exploring, let’s get immersed, let's get lost.
